Jackie Chan Premiere 2007
|
|
The rest of the crowd at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood may have been there to see the premiere of Jackie Chan’s movie The Myth. But The Portal jirls were there to see Ben!

LA: Recently there have been articles that have touted you as the next action star. Have you read them?
BB: No.
LA: You haven’t read any them?
BB: No
LA: They think you’re pretty hot. That you get out there and you get into the mud.
BB: I do like to get into the mud.
LA: This is true but a very important thing they point out is that you’ve got this huge fan base that will follow you to the movies. Now that Indiana Jones is going off into the twilight, how about Ben Browder?
BB: Well as long as I can keep feeding my family.
LA: That’s a good thing.
BB: Well it is sort of a critical issue. As always.
LA; Okay, well I guess my next question would be about success. Now that you’ve moved from Farscape to Stargate SG-1, do you think you’ve reached your version of success? What’s your definition of success and have you reached it yet?
BB: Coincidentally I was just talking to the Mrs. about the other day about relative levels of success. See we’re two actors and we have a house that we have a mortgage payment on. We have our kids, and dogs, and a cat and we have this great life. We’re really lucky. Honestly, you’re lucky when you get a first chance. Then you’re lucky when you get a second chance. Then a third. There’s so much luck involved. Which doesn’t negate the persistence and it doesn’t negate your hard work and busting your ass to get there. But I’ve been very very lucky.
LA: Well there are a lot of people who are rooting for you.
BB: Really?
LA: A lot of people.
BB: That’s really nice to know. I’m usually not aware of it.
LA: Oh okay.
BB: My kids root for me. My mom roots for me. Fran is pretty good about it.
LA: Yeah? I bet she is. Well, trust me, your Farscape fan base has gone no where and you’ve picked up some SG-1 fans.
BB: Oh really? Well some of the SG-1 fans scare me because of Rick.
LA: Well yeah, but true fans recognize talent.
BB: The ones who have talked to me have been very nice. I haven’t met anyone with a knife ready to kill me.
LA: That’s a good thing.
BB: I reckon.
LA Oh, I see they’re going to come grab you from me in a second. But before you go I just have to ask you one fan jirl question.
BB: A fan jirl question?
LA Yeap. What’s you favorite color?
BB: My favorite color?!
LA: Yes!
BB: Ooooh my favorite color. Well I guess that varies. I guess in general I wear a lot of blues. So I could say blue.
LA: Okay. Then we’ll say blue.
BB: Yeah but that more or less depends on what ever team I’m rooting for that after noon.
LA: Oh so you’re flexible in your faves depending on the day.
BB: I’m very flexible. I went from green to purple. I’ve got a maroon team I’m rooting for right now. I’ve got a blue and gold team that I’m rooting for. And that will shift depending on the schedule.
LA: Okay, well, I was really looking for a single color.
BB: Saturdays in the fall will be blue and gold
LA: Uh huh.
